Councilor Vasquez: (Sipping on a drink) (Sighs)

(A knock on the door is heard)

Vasquez: Come in.

​

Councilor Daniels: Vasquez, we need to talk.

​

Vasquez: About what, Lewis?

​

Daniels: Your "friend". We need to take steps towards bringing her to justice.

​

Vasquez: It's safe to assume she's either dead or long gone.

​

Daniels: You're so preemptive with nearly everything else. But when it comes to [REDACTED], you're laissez-faire. It makes me wonder where your allegiance lies.

​

Vasquez: How dare you. You have no idea what I've had to do in order to serve this city.

​

Daniels: And I think it's about time we start looking into what you've "had to do".

 

(Silence)

 

Vasquez: (Scoffs) You don't have the power.

Daniels: Au contraire. Per the NVC Constitution, a Head Councilor can be impeached, investigated, and, if sufficient evidence is provided, removed from office if, under unanimous vote, the other Councilors deem you unfit to lead. So yes, we do have power.

(Long silence)
